The aim of the project was to design a much needed urban park with a library at its core as a place for respite, community and entertainment. The site was previously a historic ship-building factory until it was closed down and since then left abandoned.
The project tries to deal with these complex situations of a historic backing as well as a narrow and dense site to address the need showcased in Trieste. The site uses a basic concept which is to use the natural circulation and the moment of stress to create something a lot more relaxing like a library, as well as to integrate a much nicer boardwalk at the top of the site and an informal market space for a various functions as needed by the city and its people.
Having a park, trees were a crutial part of the site due to the absence of such spaces throughout Trieste and inorder to create a relaxing space for respite.
